Bee, Bark & Moss was established in 2012 by Minori Shironishi and Philip Rodrigue after relocating from the East Coast. Having started out with our line of stencil painted hemp market bags, we have progressed to producing a range of hand crafted lifestyle products and soft furnishings designed and fabricated here in Carmel-by-the-Sea. In addition to curating a line of carefully sourced, small batch design items from around the world. Focusing on heritage, heirloom and rare provenance items, whilst seeking to connect and work alongside other artisans and suppliers.
Minori was born in Tokyo, Japan and educated in fashion design at Parsons School of Design NYC and amassed over 20 years of experience at the helm of Yohji Yamamoto USA.
Philip was born in London,UK and was educated in Fine Arts and Interior Design at the London College of Furniture. Arriving in NYC in 1987 to work in the field of trompe l’oeil painting and furniture design.Then going on to help establish and manage The Cooler and Baktun,two music clubs located in New York’s old meat packing district.
