Solid brass bottle opener in a crescent form. Made by Futagami, Toyama Prefecture, Japan. Established 1897.
Futagami was founded as a manufacturer of brass cast fittings for traditional Buddhist altars. Since 2009, in collaboration with designer Oji Masanori, the company has produced a line of cast brass living ware — functional objects intended for everyday use. Each piece is cast using traditional methods and left uncoated, allowing the brass to develop a natural patina through handling and oxidation over time.
