Handcrafted body towel made from washi paper fiber and cotton yarn, by Yosuke Shoten, Japan. Established 1935.
Washi is a traditional Japanese paper made from mulberry (kozo) fiber, prized for its strength and durability despite its light weight. For this body towel, washi paper is cut into strips and knitted together with cotton yarn in an open, loopy structure. The construction retains lather effectively, reducing the amount of soap needed per use. Washi fiber is naturally antibacterial.
