  • Furoshiki Strawberry Bag • Mini Polka Dots

The Furoshiki Strawberry Bag begins with a furoshiki — a traditional Japanese square wrapping cloth with over 1,300 years of history. Like origami in fabric form, furoshiki is always folded and tied, never sewn or cut. This particular folding technique shapes the cloth into the rounded, gathered silhouette of a strawberry, creating a bag that is as much craft object as it is everyday carry.

Musubi Furoshiki of Kyoto, one of Japan's foremost furoshiki makers. Furoshiki has been part of Japanese daily life since the Nara period (710–794 AD), when cloths called tsutsumi were used to wrap and carry valuables — the direct ancestor of the furoshiki tradition.
