What is agate?
Agate is a banded form of chalcedony, a microcrystalline variety of quartz. It forms in a wide range of colors and patterns, often with translucent layers. Agate has a hardness of 6.5–7 on the Mohs scale and a waxy to vitreous luster.
What is tiger's eye?
Tiger's eye is a chatoyant gemstone in the quartz family, typically golden to reddish-brown with a silky luster. Its distinctive shimmer — known as chatoyancy — is caused by light reflecting off parallel fibrous structures within the stone. It has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.
