Handwoven mercerized cotton jacquard shawl in multicolor with a diamond weave pattern, from northern Thailand and Laos. Soft and tightly woven.
Woven by farming artisan women of northern Thailand and Laos, who weave only during the monsoon season when farming is not possible. Dyes are foraged — indigo, lotus flowers for the pinks, roots and leaves for a range of colors. The jacquard weave creates a diamond motif woven directly into the cloth.
