  • Japanese Buddhists believe that each person should have at least one nenju

Yasuda Nenju Ten has been making nenju (Japanese prayer beads) since 1683 in the ancient city of Kyoto. Nenju is the name of prayer beads that are used in Japanese Buddhism. Prayer beads were originated in India in B.C. and transmitted to Japan throughout China with Buddhism at the beginning of the 6th century. After prayer beads were introduced into Japan, different forms of nenju were born for every eight sects in Japan and nenju were spread from nobilities to people in general.
